Microgrant FAQs
Ask us anything—play should be for everyone.
What is a microgrant?
A microgrant is a small but powerful grant—usually between $50–$250—to help individuals or small groups access or create play. It’s fast, simple, and meant to remove small barriers with big impact.
Who can apply?
Anyone!
We welcome applications from:
Kids (with a parent/guardian)
Adults and caregivers
Teachers or community leaders
Small groups or informal neighborhood projects
We especially encourage those who’ve faced financial, physical, or social barriers to play.
What kinds of things can it fund?
Lots of possibilities!
Think: registration fees, equipment, art supplies, walking groups, intergenerational play days, adaptive gear, or creative movement projects. If it sparks joy, wellness, or connection, it likely qualifies.
How much can I ask for?
Most microgrants are between $50 and $250. If your need is bigger, reach out and we can brainstorm other resources or partnerships!
How do I apply?
Just fill out [this short form] with your idea, who it helps, and how it supports play. No resume, no income proof—just your story and a plan.
What happens after I apply?
Applications are reviewed monthly. We’ll email you within 2–3 weeks. If funded, we’ll work with you to send support in a way that fits your plan (e.g. check, supply drop-off, or reimbursement).
Can I apply more than once?
Yes—with limits. If you’ve already received a grant, we ask that you wait a few months before applying again so we can support more people. If your new request is for something different, you’re welcome to reapply.
Is there a deadline?
We accept applications on a rolling basis, and review them monthly. Apply anytime!
